Tuatha De Brighid Druidry - Brighid's Shrine

One in All, and All in One, we hail Ye, Brighid!
We bless Thee, we honor Thee, we give Thee praise.
Hear the words of these, Thy kindred:
Bless us even as we bless Thee, we pray Thee,
And be with us now and in times to come.

Brighid of the mantles, Brighid of the hearth fire,
Brighid of the twining hair, Brighid of the auguries,
Brighid of the fair face, Brighid of the calmness,
Brighid of the strong hands, Brighid of the kine,

Brighid, friend of peoples, Brighid, fire of magic,
Brighid, foster mother, Brighid, woman of wisdom,
Brighid, the daughter of Danu, Brighid, the triple flame.
Each day and each night we sing the descent of Brighid.

That the power of healing be within us,
That the power of poetry be within us,
That the power of shaping be within us,
In earth, and in sky, and among all Kindreds.

Kindle your flame in our heads, hearts and loins,
Make us your cup, your harp, your forge,
That we may heal, inspire and transform,
All in your honor, Brighid, font of blessing.

Brighid above us,
Brighid below us,
Brighid in the very air about us,
Brighid in our truest heart!

Tuatha De Brighid is named after Brighid, a Celtic Goddess, and a Celtic Christian Saint.   While we honor many personifications of the Divine, as a Tribe we name Her our Matron, and we turn to Her for guidance, inspiration and protection.

As such things often are, it is difficult to say whether we chose Her, or She chose us, but what can be said with assurance is that our Vision and Her personality are intimately enmeshed.

Brighid is a Goddess of Inspiration, and so we look for inspiration from the Divine.

She is a Triple Goddess associated with Wisdom, Creativity and Compassion, thus inspiring our Three Mysteries of Truth, Art and Kinship.

She is associated with both Fire and Water, and is thus an archetypal Goddess of Creation, making Her a mystical Image of the All.

It is likely that, as the tutelary Goddess of the Brigantes, She was associated with the land, and therefore personifies Modern Druid focus on Nature and an intimate connection with its cycles.

As a Goddess of the Hearth, She calls us to focus on relationships and interconnections as the primal moving force of Being.  More, She calls us to aspire to treat each other as Kin.

Above all else, Brighid is the once and future Goddess of Druidry, timeless and universal, for She, as both the Goddess and the Saint, and by Her association with all aspects of human life, transcends artificial categories, and, by Her connection with both Fire and Water, She stands as a personification of Creation itself.
